Getting out of My March Bubble

Besides my usual studies and volunteering, this week has been busier than usual for me socially. On Tuesday I had my ladies' Bible study. On Wednesday, my new friend Cat invited me to the park with her and her adorable 2 1/2 year-old daughter. On Thursday, my big brother Joseph treated me out to Panera for dinner, just me and him. On Friday, I went on an adventure to Greensboro (about 1 1/2 hours from Raleigh) to meet a gal named Jordan who also went to Ellerslie in Colorado, just during a different semester than me. She actually lives in Virginia, but was coming to NC for the day and wanted to know if I could meet. Now today, my neighbor and friend Joanna has asked me out to lunch and browsing in boutiques together. I even had to decline a dinner invitation for this week.

All these people asked me to do these things with them. Because of how unusual it is to do so much all at once, it made me realize the Lord is prompting them to ask me to get together, even if they don't realize it. It's no secret that the month of March is extremely difficult for me. And honestly, if I had it my way, I could easily withdraw into my own little March bubble. But the Lord knows what I need. He wants to keep me in fellowship, He wants me to be encouraged by these dear friends and family members.

It has refreshed me to be around people as Lily's birthday draws nearer. And not only that, but it has been healing for my heart to be able to talk freely and openly about my little girl who would almost be 6. I know these people are safe places for me to open up, even cry if I need to.

So thank you to everyone who has sought out spending time with me this month thus far. Even if you don't purposefully realize what you are doing, it is helping me.

Speaking of meeting Jordan in Greensboro yesterday, it was a special time! We met at a coffee shop and talked there for a couple hours. Then, I went with her and her mom, sister, and sister's friend out to dinner. Jordan is such a sweet and kind person, with a deep love for Jesus. I enjoyed our time together. She shared with me that she actually started reading my blog before she realized I had gone to Ellerslie. It's always neat to meet a blog reader and to meet a fellow Ellerslie grad, so to meet both at once is extra special! I took along a few of my favorite Lily keepsakes to share, such as her hair, foot impression, foot and handprints, and the outfit and hat she wore at the hospital. Then I shared Lily's song that Jordan had actually not heard yet. I hope to see you again sometime soon, Jordan! :)
