Remembering Together Swap 2016

This year, I decided to participate in the Remembering Together Ornament Swap.

I took part once before, in 2012 I think it was, and haven't since then because honestly I was disappointed with what I ended up with. The ornament wasn't really "unique to Lily." I had also participated in a Christmas gift exchange for families touched by babyloss, in 2010, which turned out disappointing for me as well. This made me apprehensive about participating again.

Anyways, with the swap, hundreds of families from around the world make an ornament for another family, and also receive one. All the families have been touched by babyloss. It is a touching way to remember and honor other babies, while yours is remembered and honored as well. You give information about your baby and details about things that remind you of them. It's also a way to do something tangible for your baby during the Christmas season.

This is the lovely ornament that was made for me by a lady named Kimberly (Phara's mommy).

Here's a video I took to show the ornament all the way around.

And this is the ornament I made for Griffin's mommy, Jennifer. Sea turtles remind her of her guy. I loved being able to do this for him/her/Lily all at once. It was therapeutic to plan out the ornament, shop for it, and make it.

Here's a video I took to share Griffin's ornament all the way around.

Wood Burned Ornaments

I've been wanting these memorial wood burned Christmas ornaments from Luminous Light Studio since last year. One for each of my L's, and one for my Aunt Rachel, who was born and died in 1965. ❤️🎄

There are snowflakes on the back. ❄️❄️❄️

Each ornament came with this sweet tag on it. :)

Lily's Christmas Tree

Lily Katherine's (and Luke's) 2016 remembrance Christmas tree! 🎄❤️⭐️❄️

Eight Christmas seasons (including the year I was carrying her and this year) of loving my girl and collecting ornaments for her and it was time to get a larger tree. I also have several ornaments for Luke Shiloh. :)

My niece, Harvest, admiring her cousin's tree. 😍

Here's a video I took a couple nights ago... late night decorating Lily's tree while listening to Christy Nockels amazing new Christmas album.

Lily's Christmas Tree

I decided to get a different mini Christmas tree for Lily this year because the usual green one I use got damaged in storage. I found a pretty gold one at Target for only $8 and think the color looks pretty in my room. Here's a peek at my room with Lily's tree decorated with white lights and all her ornaments that I've gotten and have been given over the years. It's sitting on top of her cedar memory chest.

On another note, when I was taking the ornament box out of storage, one of the fragile ornaments a friend made for me in Lily's honor in 2012 broke. :( I'm sad that happened, but hope to get the glass part replaced, even though it won't be the original.

Lily's Lamb Ornament

This is the beautiful ornament my grandmother gave me in honor of Lily Katherine for Christmas. Lambs are significant to me, for my pure and innocent one, like both her first and middle names means. Her stone has a lamb on top.

Lily's Christmas Ornaments and Tree

A few days ago, I got out my box of memorial ornaments that I have collected over the past 5 Christmases - some I got while I was pregnant with Lily, some were given as gifts, some were made by me or others, while others were bought by me. Each year, I like to add to my growing collection. I hope to make one this year.

And here is Lily's mini memorial Christmas tree, adorned with her lovely ornaments. I will also take her a tree to decorate her grave for Christmas/winter.
