Capture Your Grief 2013-Day 9

CAPTURE YOUR GRIEF 2013 Photography Project
Day 9: Music
October 9, 2013 ♥

Day 9. Music: This might be hard to capture in a photograph so why not post a youtube clip of a piece of music that reminds your of your baby. Why this piece of music?

There are many songs that remind me of Lily. For this project, I decided upon the five that I'd say remind me of her the most.

"Little One" describes my pregnancy journey perfectly. I first heard it when I was pregnant and I would just cry at the beauty of the song. I had an unplanned pregnancy at age 19/20.

"Forever and a Day" by Jewel is one of my pregnancy favorites. I would listen to the "Lullaby" album all the time during my pregnancy and Lily would squirm around so much. This song so beautifully portrays the love I have for my sweet girl.

"Beauty Will Rise" is from the album that came after Steven Curtis Chapman lost his own daughter. My aunt gave it to me just two months after Lily passed away, for Mother's Day 2010. It has been such a huge part of my healing. This song perfectly captures my entire testimony of darkness to light.

"I Will Carry You" has also meant a lot to me on my grief and healing journey. I actually first heard the song when I was still pregnant and had no idea Lily would die. But, then when she did, I remembered it and played it at her Celebration of LIFE service. The words are hauntingly beautiful.

"Your Hands" was also played at Lily's Celebration of LIFE service. It reminds me of this bittersweet journey of loving Lily and how faithful God is through all the highs and lows of life.
